Waldemar Jerzy Marszałek (born 1960, Dobrzyca) is an artist who focuses on the human figure, especially on women. His art is a story about relationships between men and women, about emotionality, sensuality and desire. As the author emphasises, his paintings enable us to detach ourselves from the prevailing cruelty of the world. Marszałek studied graphic design at the State Higher School of Visual Arts (now the Academy of Fine Arts) in Gdańsk. Immediately after graduating, he started teaching at the university, first as an assistant, now as a professor. He has had over 30 individual exhibitions and participated in over 200 group exhibitions in Poland and abroad.
