Justyna Michalska-Bak was born in 1976 in Poznań, where she studied at Adam Mickiewicz University at the College of Foreign Languages, and then at the School of Translators. Her interest in art, and especially painting, goes back more than 20 years. In addition to painting, the artist is fascinated by book illustration, believing it to be an important area of art that influences the young and shapes their view of the surrounding world. Her illustrative works have been exhibited twice at the Illustrators' Salon during the Book Fair for Children and Young People in Poznań. There is also a book for children by Jerzy Sieklucki entitled "Wnukochwilki" with illustrations by the artist. The artist has lived and worked in Polanica-Zdrój for many years.
