Marek Szczesny was born in 1958. He graduated from the State Secondary School of Fine Arts in Opole and the Faculty of Arts and Pedagogy of the University of Silesia in Katowice, Faculty of Arts in Cieszyn, in the painting studio of Professor Jerzy Wroński, founder of the artistic Krakow Group. Since 1987, he has lived in Germany, where he is professionally engaged in church painting and restoration of historical monuments. From 1994 to 2005 he practised independent artistic activity, cooperating with various galleries, including the Mensing Gallery, and with art publishers (Platin Art, PGM, Tushita Verlag). Between 2000 and 2006 he ran his own gallery and a painting school. Between 2008 and 2010 he lived in Tunisia, where he collaborated with the Gallery of Sidi Bou Said in Tunis. He participated in numerous group exhibitions in Germany and Switzerland. Individual exhibitions in the Polish Embassy in Tunis, Essen, Bochum, among others. In 2000 he won the main prize at the International Airbrush Forum , in the category Bodypainting. Several of the artist's motifs, published in the form of posters and calendars, gained international fame and popularity and were placed on top lists of the best-selling motifs (Venus II Blue, Blue Man). The artist is also the author of several album covers of leading Polish rock groups (Believe, Millenium).
