Jolanta Kitowska is from Pomerania and was born in 1968. She has a master's degree in Polish philology (she graduated from the University of Gdańsk). She lived in the United States for seven years, where she graduated cum laude from the Stratford Career Institute (majoring in art). She honed her skills as a member of the Long Island Art League. After her return to Poland, she founded the Rumska Painting Studio. She has had numerous group and individual exhibitions and participated in plein air workshops in Poland and Europe, which are an important part of her life.
Jolanta Kitowska's dance experiences were the first inspiration to seek movement in painting, to create portrait cycles and to evolve towards showing emotions. As a natural consequence of her creative development, she reversed the direction of her search and focused on calmness and synthesis, purity of colour and form.
