Janusz Bersz (Poznan, 1925-1985) studied in France in the studio of Prof. Souverbie, at the Ecole Nationale des Beaux Arts in Paris (1945), and after returning to Poland he continued his studies in the studio of Prof. E. Wasilkowski and at the Academy of Fine Arts in Poznań (1947-1950). The most creative and active period of his activity is the end of the 1950s and 1960s, when he acquired the position of one of the most important representatives of so-called allusive abstraction.
